If you’re looking for where to rent a bike in Stockholm you can’t go wrong with Rent Bike! You can find Rent Bike all over Sweden, including Stockholm city and western Stockholm (Bromma). 

Here you can rent a bunch of different bikes – mountain bikes for off-road adventures, electric bikes for longer rides and help on hills, classic women’s bikes for city or country cruising, and children’s bikes in various sizes (20–26 inches). Jonna is a bike leasing service that lets you have a bicycle on a subscription basis, with no lock-in period. It’s perfect if you want a bike that’s always in top shape without having to buy it since they do services too and they’ll come and fix your bike for punctures and other repairs. 

The monthly cost stays the same no matter how much you use the bike so it’s a bit better than the city bike scheme in that respect too.

Stockholm Adventures is a tour company that offers all sorts of tours around the city from ice-skating in the winter to boat and segway tours. They also offer bicycle rentals in Stockholm and have a great range of bikes including city bikes, e-bikes, kids bikes panniers and even cargo bikes. 

This is a great option if you’re visiting Stockholm as a family, as not all rental options have seats or add-ons for kids.

Prices start from 300 SEK for 1 day and include helmets, simple bike locks and a tyre repair kit.

Djurgårdsboden

Djurgården is another part of the city you’ll surely visit during your trip to Stockholm and if you want to cycle around this part then Djurgårdsboden is the best place to rent a bike. 

This lush green island is perfect for cycling, with beautiful views and attractions like Skansen, Gröna Lund, ABBA The Museum, and Waldemarsudde. Cycling between them makes things super eary.

Djurgårdsboden is near Skansen’s main entrance and it rents out bikes on summer weekends from May to August. You can rent by the hour or day, and they include helmets and a map of Djurgården. There are also child seats (book these in advance due to limited availability).

Stockholm Cykel is mainly known for its guided bike tours, but they also rent out bikes in Södermalm. They have robust trekking bikes – a mix of mountain, racing, and city bikes.

Remember to contact them in advance to arrange a pick-up time, and you’ll need to return the bike to the same place within 24 hours.

Over in Kungsholmen, there’s a great spot called Cykelstallet. They’re a bike shop that has been fixing bikes for over 30 years and so you can be sure they know their stuff. 

We’ve always had good service here since the bikes are serviced regularly so you get a nice smooth ride. This isn’t a bike rental place where the brakes are dodgy nd the gears slip! 

Cykelstallet has lots of bike options – whether you want a standard bike, hybrid, racer, mountain bike, electric bike, or even a tandem bike for two. Need more? They also rent out exercise bikes, trailers for kids or your stuff, and bike bags. It’s like a one-stop shop for your biking adventure in Stockholm. And don’t worry about safety – helmets are included in the rental (and you can rent them separately if you need).

If, like my husband, you’re more of a mountain biker, be sure to check out these great places to rent a mountain bike in Stockholm.

You might be surprised to find out that Stockholm has some great mountain bike trails but it does! You’ll find some of the best in Nacakreservatet around Hellasgarden but there are other trails not too far away too. 

Mountainbikeskolan

Mountainbikeskolan in Stockholm is a great place to both rent mountain bikes in the city and take lessons.

We’ve had this place recommended to us by our landlord and are keen to check it out this spring/summer. Mountainbikeskolan is closed over winter but opens for the season on March 29th (just in time for the Easter long weekend!).

They rent both Trek mountain bikes and gravel bikes and you can take courses whether you’re a complete beginner to mountain biking, or looking to up your skills.

Their location in Nacka Reserve means you don’t have to cycle far to hit the trails either.

If you get hungry, they’ve also got a great cafe on site, Café Källtorp, where you can enjoy some fresh and healthy meals or take a fika.

True Nature Sweden

True Nature Sweden offers mountain bike lessons and tours as well as rentals if you’re confident enough to get out onto the trails on your own.

All the bikes are durable hard-tails, designed for excellent handling. You can also get knee and elbow pads too. Plus the team can help you identify which routes to pick to maximise your time during your Stockholm bike rental.

Hellasgården

Hellasgården is also a great place to rent a mountain bike in Stockholm, you’re right next to the trails you can roll straight onto them.

The rental bikes are available in sizes from XL to XS, and are from top brands like Specialized and Scott, ensuring a comfortable ride.
